NDT methods performed at our facilities:
VT (Visual Inspection)
Initial inspection of surface quality and weld profile.
UT (Ultrasonic Testing)
Volumetric inspection to detect internal weld defects and laminations.
RT / XT (Radiographic Testing / X-ray)
Comprehensive documentation of internal defects using an integrated X-ray system.
ET (Eddy Current Testing)
Detection of surface cracks; particularly effective on coated surfaces and welded joints.
Digital Surveying and Geometric Verification
We perform digital dimensional inspections of piping systems and steel structures. Through precise measurement documentation, geometric deviations are identified before components are replaced. This eliminates the risk of material stresses during reinstallation, thereby maintaining the piping system’s structural integrity and functionality during operation.
Integrated NDT testing with a dedicated X-ray booth
IRV AS works closely with an independent third party specializing in NDT. This third party operates in an approved X-ray facility that is directly integrated into our workshop in Kristiansund. This ensures continuous and efficient quality control of welded joints without logistical delays or external transportation.
